Indian Classical Music with Ustad Shafaat Khan

Guest Artist, Khan, a world renowned Indian Classical musician has performed worldwide at many prestigious concert halls, music festivals and universities all over India, America, Europe, China, Russia and Japan. He previously performed at Hope in October 2006.
“Star in the world of classical music… the thunderous ovation never ceased throughout his performance,” said “The Chandigarh Tribune” in India.
In the rich history of Indian classical music, Khan has distinguished himself by being the first known artist to have attained simultaneous excellence in performing the Sitar, Surbuhar and Tabla.
Of Khan, “The Washington Post” has said, “Virtuoso… Classical Purity… Astonishing individuality… Mr. Khan explored the rhythmic intricacies of percussive sound in a way that was both intellectual and poetic.”
Khan was also presented with the Professional Excellence Award for an outstanding musician, performer, and teacher by the State of Pennsylvania.
Admission: $10 general, $7 seniors, $5 under 18
