DESCRIPTION:Holland Parks & Recreation is excited to announce the return of the Summer Concert Series in 2025. \n\n\n\nResidents and visitors alike are invited to join in the excitement at the Kollen Park Bandshell every Friday evening to enjoy a free community concert. The series kicks off June 12 and will occur every Friday evening through August 14. These free community concerts are once again made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsors\, Blain’s Farm & Fleet\, Haworth\, and Barber Ford of Holland. \n\n\n\nConcerts are free to attend and begin at 6:30 PM and last approximately two hours. Indoor bathrooms\, lots of parking\, and a beautiful waterfront view make Kollen Park an ideal place to take in the sounds of summer. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy dinner overlooking Lake Macatawa\, while enjoying this year’s diverse musical line-up. Whether you’re simply curious about how bees or are considering starting your own hive\, this class will cover the essentials of beekeeping as a hobby\, including the equipment you’ll need\, available support resources\, startup costs\, and the many rewards of raising bees. \n\n\n\nYou’ll also explore the different types of bees within a hive\, the different varieties of honey\, the many roles of worker bees\, and important information about bee stings and hive safety. If you’ve ever thought about becoming a beekeeper\, this is the perfect place to start! \n\n\n\nAbout the Host \n\n\n\nBeekeeper Donald Lam and his wife have been keeping honeybees for 35 years in the Holland area. In addition to leading classes\, they provide polllination services for growers\, produce honey that is available in local stores\, and provide bees and equipment to area beekeepers. And as part of the Downtown Holland Social District\, patrons ages 21+ can enjoy an adult beverage while strolling down 8th Street during the event. \n\n\n\nThe 2026 Street Performer Series is proudly sponsored by Gentex Corporation.
