DESCRIPTION:Holland Parks & Recreation is excited to announce the return of the Summer Concert Series in 2025. \n\n\n\nResidents and visitors alike are invited to join in the excitement at the Kollen Park Bandshell every Friday evening to enjoy a free community concert. The series kicks off June 13 and will occur every Friday evening through August 15\, with the exception of July 4. These free community concerts are once again made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsors\, Blain’s Farm & Fleet\, Haworth\, and Barber Ford of Holland. \n\n\n\nConcerts are free to attend and begin at 6:30 PM and last approximately two hours. Indoor bathrooms\, lots of parking\, and a beautiful waterfront view make Kollen Park an ideal place to take in the sounds of summer. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy dinner overlooking Lake Macatawa\, while enjoying this year’s diverse musical line-up. With a different musical guest & food vendor featured weekly\, guests are sure to find a night that fits their interests.

Now veterans of the 80’s cultural milieu\, they are still rocking as hard as ever. The proof is in the pudding! They’ve since been bestowed with awards such as: the Real Detroit’s “Best of…” Best Live Production/Cover Band in 2002\, and have won this category every year through 2013! Hour Detroit’s best local band\, 2009. The Knot: Best of Weddings 2010 pick and one of WDIV’s “4 The Best” top 5 bands. This also includes playing at the Palace of Auburn Hills and being highlighted on Mitch Albom and Fox 2 News. \n\n\n\nLead vocalist for the Mega 80’s\, Carey Denha\, has been the vocalist of Going Public\, a Michigan State band he played in when he attended the university in the 90’s. Carey has now embarked upon managing other high end production bands like the Mega 80’s in his new venture\, Tangerine Moon Productions. So far\, Tangerine Moon Productions has brought into the musical fold three other great shows\, The Hype Syndicate (top 40’s tribute band)\, Boogie Dynomite (a multimedia disco tribute)and The Square Pegz (the female fronted counterpart to the Mega 80’s). Tangerine Moon Productions will also be bringing other high end Las Vegas type acts to Detroit as well. \n\n\n\nWith all of the continued improvements to the show\, from dancers to enhanced video media (even personalized birthday/bachelorette messages)\, the Mega 80’s and Tangerine Moon Productions will continue to fill concert halls and add to your experience. The Series is also supported by the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs. \n\n\n\nPlease note that 8th Street will be closed to thru traffic and parking each Thursday from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm from Columbia Avenue through River Avenue to accommodate the Series. SCR crafts their songs with a unique approach using banjo\, saxophone\, lush harmonies and an intuitive rhythm section. The songs – and the band – tell a story.  \n\n\n\nThe Erly Bio:The Erly is an American folk rock band from Niles\, Michigan\, featuring Collin Mattiford (bass/vocals)\, Trevor McDonald (guitar/vocals)\, Fran Gleason (drums/vocals)\, and Simon Kauffman-Hurst (keyboards). The Erly formed in the winter of 2018.The Erly has released four studio albums\, including the newest in their catalog\, an 11-track Americana rock album called ‘Salem Lights’ (9/4/24).Featuring each member on lead vocals\, it contains narrative-driven lyrics amongst emotional\, rootsy playing. Born out of a jam session in Gleason’s basement\, ‘Salem Lights’ evolved into a completed body of work. Produced by Paul Bennett\, the band describes the album as\, “No metronome\, all the microphone bleed you can get\, and the true sound of The Erly working together in their natural state.” Though this album finds The Erly at their most relaxed\, they are no strangers to creating a high-octane\, jam-adjacent live performance.
