DESCRIPTION:Visiting all the way from Belgium\, the Vlaggendansgroep Symbolica only tours the US once every 7 years\, so you won’t want to miss this unique performance! \n\n\n\nJoin us in welcoming the Vlaggendansgroep Symbolica (Flag Dance Group) visiting all the way from Belgium! In partnership with Avalon School for the Arts\, Windmill Island Gardens will be one of this group’s final stops in the US before continuing their international tour. While the group tours Europe each summer\, they only visit the US once every seven years\, so you don’t want to miss this free show! \n\n\n\nThe Vlaggendansgroep Symbolica is a dance group made up of over 30 young men ages 10-18 that formed in 1969 in honor of the former boys’ school Sint-Jan Bergmans College in Genk’s 50th anniversary\, and they have been adding a modern twist on traditional Flemish flag dancing ever since. \n\n\n\nThis free performance will take place at Windmill Island Gardens in the lawn to the East of our Posthouse building on Monday\, July 21 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. We encourage everyone to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the show!

The series kicks off June 13 and will occur every Friday evening through August 15\, with the exception of July 4. You may also be craving a sweet treat in the summer heat\, so be sure to pick up some FREE ice cream from 1:00pm – 3:00pm! \n\n\n\nAs always\, Holland residents get into the park free with proof of residency. Regular admission rates still apply for non-residents.

DESCRIPTION:Holland Parks & Recreation is excited to announce the return of the Summer Concert Series in 2025. \n\n\n\nResidents and visitors alike are invited to join in the excitement at the Kollen Park Bandshell every Friday evening to enjoy a free community concert. The series kicks off June 13 and will occur every Friday evening through August 15\, with the exception of July 4. These free community concerts are once again made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsors\, Blain’s Farm & Fleet\, Haworth\, and Barber Ford of Holland. \n\n\n\nConcerts are free to attend and begin at 6:30 PM and last approximately two hours. Indoor bathrooms\, lots of parking\, and a beautiful waterfront view make Kollen Park an ideal place to take in the sounds of summer. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy dinner overlooking Lake Macatawa\, while enjoying this year’s diverse musical line-up. With a different musical guest & food vendor featured weekly\, guests are sure to find a night that fits their interests.

And as part of the Downtown Holland Social District\, patrons ages 21+ can enjoy an adult beverage while strolling down 8th Street during the event. \n\n\n\nThe 2025 Street Performer Series is proudly sponsored by Gentex Corporation. The Series is also supported by the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs. \n\n\n\nPlease note that 8th Street will be closed to thru traffic and parking each Thursday from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm from Columbia Avenue through River Avenue to accommodate the Series.
