This tour will visit key sites that were impacted by the fire where attendees will hear compelling stories of resilience and rebuilding that followed in its wake. The tour begins and ends on the steps of the Holland Museum and takes place entirely outdoors. Please dress for the weather\, wear comfortable walking shoes\, and bring water to stay hydrated. Come experience history where it happened! \n\n\n\n$5 per person for Members\, $8 per person for Non-Members. Pre-registration required.

DESCRIPTION:Visit the Cappon House and Settlers House during Tulip Time! \n\n\n\nThe historic Cappon House was the home of Holland’s first mayor and local tannery proprietor\, Isaac Cappon. Built in 1874\, it is now partially restored to its appearance in 1900. Visitors to the Cappon House step back in time\, immersing themselves in the stories of Isaac Cappon and his large family.The historic Settlers House is a small family home that was lived in by a series of working-class families over the course of its long history. Built around 1867\, the building survived the Great Holland Fire of 1871 and was continuously lived in until the 1990s. Today\, the home has been restored to how it would have appeared in 1871.The self guided tour starts at the Cappon House. DESCRIPTION:Visit the Cappon House and Settlers House during Tulip Time! \n\n\n\nThe historic Cappon House was the home of Holland’s first mayor and local tannery proprietor\, Isaac Cappon. Built in 1874\, it is now partially restored to its appearance in 1900. Visitors to the Cappon House step back in time\, immersing themselves in the stories of Isaac Cappon and his large family.The historic Settlers House is a small family home that was lived in by a series of working-class families over the course of its long history. Built around 1867\, the building survived the Great Holland Fire of 1871 and was continuously lived in until the 1990s. Today\, the home has been restored to how it would have appeared in 1871.The self guided tour starts at the Cappon House. New this year you can buy a combo ticket to get discounted admission to the Cappon/Settler House and the Holland Museum.
