Whether you’re a first time visitor or you’re hoping to open a business in Downtown Holland, we’ve got you covered with these FAQs!
Where can find information about the Tulip Time Festival?
While the City of Holland Parks Department is responsible for planting thousands of tulip bulbs in City parks and the public right away each year, the Tulip Time Festival is not organized by the City. Tulip Time Festival, Inc. is a separate non-profit organization that plans the Tulip Time Festival each May. You can find information on the upcoming Tulip Time Festival on their website at www.tuliptime.com or by calling their office at 616.396.4221.
If you wish to visit them in person, the Tulip Time office is located in Downtown Holland at 42 West 8th Street, just west of River Avenue behind Canterbury Cottage Interiors. And if you’re wondering when the tulips will be in peak bloom, the answer is typically late April to mid-May. But only Mother Nature really knows!
When are shops and restaurants open?
Downtown Holland is fortunate to be home to hundreds of locally-owned shops and restaurants. However, because most of our businesses are locally-owned, each business can choose to set its own hours of operation, which often change seasonally. This means that there are not “set” days and times when all of our shops and restaurants are all open. If you are interested in visiting specific businesses during your visit, we always recommended contacting them in advance by phone or visiting their website or Facebook page to confirm their hours.
Where do I park?
Parking for Downtown Holland customers and other visitors is available on-street, in surface lots off 7th and 9th Street, and in the 7th and 9th Street Parking Decks. Visitors may park during the day in all lots signed for Public and/or Customer parking. There are no fees for parking in Downtown Holland or time limits, with the exception of spots marked for 15 Minute Parking Only. Overnight parking is not permitted in Downtown Holland unless you are a Downtown Holland resident with a overnight residential parking permit. Vehicles parked overnight in Downtown Holland will be subject to possible citation.
Is Downtown Holland Dog Friendly?
