Summer is fun, but Downtown Holland in the fall just can’t be beat! As the temperatures cool and trees change color, the pace slows down just a bit…but no one seems to mind! The Labor Day Truck Parade is one of a kind, and the perfect way to honor our local work force. And don’t miss Fall Fest, the biggest fall event on the Lakeshore, featuring the nation’s best professional pumpkin carvers and two days packed full of fall fun. Or simply take the time to stroll the streets, adorned with pumpkin and haybales, with a warm cider in hand.

Labor Day Truck Parade

These trucks know how to bring the noise! With over 75 semi trucks from our local manufacturers, the annual Labor Day Truck Parade is the perfect way to celebrate Labor Day! The parade begins at 9:15 a.m. in Zeeland, travels down 8th Street through Downtown Holland, and ends at the Holland Civic Center where you can enjoy a free ice cream social, street performers, and the chance to see the trucks up close!
Fire Truck Parade
Fri, October 3, 2025 | 7PM
The annual Fire Truck Parade will roll down 8th Street on Friday, October 3, beginning at 7:00 pm! Salute our local heroes at this popular event, featuring fire trucks from across the region. The parade will begin at the corner of 8th Street and Columbia Avenue, then continue west until it reaches the Holland Civic Center Place, where the West Michigan Fire Prevention Council will be hosting an open house in the Civic Center Parking lot from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm complete with demonstrations, giveaways, and more!
Fall Fest
Fri & Sat, October 3 & 4, 2025
The only fall festival in West Michigan where you’ll see the nation’s best professional pumpkin carvers live in action carving the biggest pumpkins you’ve ever seen! This two-day fall-themed festival has something fun for everyone in the family! The event features live professional pumpkin carving, pumpkin carving displays, pumpkin painting, street performers, and activities for children, along with community tulip planting at Window on the Waterfront, and an artisan vendor market with hayrides at Windmill Island Gardens!
Trick-or-Treating

Join in the fun with Trick-or-Treating in Downtown Holland! Children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and Trick-or-Treat in Downtown Holland on Saturday, October 25 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm or while supplies last! Over 50 different Downtown Holland businesses and organizations will be handing out candy that morning! Trick-or-Treating will be held rain or shine.
