Renowned fiddler Jason Carter, hailing from Lloyd, Kentucky, has spent over three decades shaping the sound of modern bluegrass. As the longtime fiddle player for the Del McCoury Band—the most awarded group in bluegrass history—and a founding member of the Travelin’ McCourys, Carter has earned three Grammy Awards and five IBMA titles for “Fiddle Player of the Year.” His mastery has led to collaborations with legends like Steve Earle, Ricky Skaggs, Dierks Bentley, and Vince Gill, among many others. Now stepping into the spotlight as a frontman, Carter’s solo album Lowdown Hoedown showcases both his virtuosic fiddle work and soulful vocals, featuring contributions from artists such as Billy Strings, Sarah Jarosz, and Dierks Bentley. Rooted in his Kentucky heritage yet ever-evolving, Carter’s music reflects a lifelong dedication to his craft and to the enduring spirit of bluegrass.
